I am going to start this blog post by repeating how I started of my blog post back in April on the Obstacles to Agile adoption and Aspirations for 2020s:
Staying in the above context, today I am sharing another 1000s words worth image that basically says: Hey, Agile Community, it is time to reflect as we have been investing our efforts sub-optimally and have been missing out a lot of unexplored potential for a bigger change in the dominating style of ways of working of today's companies.
Scary? Challenging? Motivating? Join me in creating a more influential future!
While I find this picture interesting and resonating with my experience I do not understand what you mean by including "laws of economy". Do you think Agile Community is at all capable to influence laws of economy? And that is should do it?
ReplyDelete@Hukajacy Kot, the answer in my case is definitely yes! I mean, for me the ultimate goal is to create ideal companies. Agile was the first profound step in this direction. A huge lesson learnt how a great idea can transform companies from within.
ReplyDeleteAt some point it became clear to me that next steps, as described in my Good Companies book, require interventions beyond borders of a company: the relation of companies to societies is key for example. Laws of the economy determine what is important to companies and how they behave. The road to ideal companies needs to take this realization into account. Agents of change need to start acting in these two areas. Otherwise, as is the case nowadays - we encounter the agent - arena unfittedness, one of the explanations why "Agility does not stick" in so many places.
p.s. I have been talking about these topics quite frequently this year, join one of the sessions and contribute your thoughts to the discussion!
